Anyone in the world

And check out this CNET TikTok, which recommends starting with ADIEU and then throwing in STORY. It's a great one-two punch that covers a lot of popular letters. The very first time I tried it out, I was able to use the letter info I gained from those guesses to get the word easily on my third attempt.

I asked Wordle creator Josh Wardle to share his techniques -- I haven't heard back yet, but if he responds, I'll definitely share. In the meantime, I asked CNET staffers to share their Wordle strategies and favorite starter words. Hope it gives you a BOOST or maybe a NUDGE.

The 10,523-seat arena opened in 1964 as an all-concrete structure built around two giant parabolas.

It has undergone numerous renovations over the years, including a $13 million project that was completed in 2009.

The Republican senator said that he would 'interpret your answer' as being critical of late liberal Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and retiring liberal Justice Breyer, who both said they opposed the notion of court packing.

Get TEARY "I cycle through TEARY, PIOUS and ADIEU as a first word, to knock out some common letters and make inroads with vowels. I then choose my next word based on the results, though sometimes I just throw up my hands and use both TEARY and PIOUS one after the other no matter what." --Amanda Kooser

The government has announced that the owner of Chelsea FC will also be prohibited from transactions with UK individuals and businesses.

The government could still grant him a licence to sell the club, but will need to be assured that he will not benefit financially and any proceeds would remain frozen.

The ship was outfitted with a jumbo piston corer that collected samples of sediment from the ocean floor. Much like tubes of ice, called ice cores, tell us about past climate, tubes of mud, or, sediment cores, do the same, but through the presence of shells and single-celled algae called diatoms.

Not easy being green "TREAD is a winner, but I like to mix up my first word. That said, I always have a few first-guess rules. At least two vowels. Never use an S. (That S guess will come in handy down the track when you realize you're incredibly dim-witted and you can only think of four-letter guesses. Final rule: Your second guess should never include your greens from guess one (unless you're on hard mode). Save those greens for later and throw five new letter guesses into the mix. If I see you post a Wordle answer on Twitter that has tall green columns of letters staying in the same place, I will judge you." --Claire Reilly

'Through this jolting experience I learned first-hand about the hunting society in northern Greenland; how life operates here above the Arctic Circle.

It was interesting to learn how the Inuit people of the Arctic have adapted to particularly harsh conditions yet have somehow made themselves comfortable with their surroundings.

Engineering reports found that thermal movement - the daily expansion and contraction of materials that all buildings undergo - as well as misalignment and tight precast joints from the original construction are the primary contributors to chipping concrete.

'The issue involving child pornography - I want to turn to that issue because it was raised multiple times … questioning your sentencing record in child pornography cases,' the Illinois senator said at the start of the second day of Jackson's confirmation hearing on Tuesday.

Big AUDIO dynamite "AUDIO. Get 4 out of 5 vowels out of the way immediately and focus on narrowing down consonants. Don't be afraid to deviate from your regular starter word, though -- sometimes a random word that pops into your head ends up being way more intuitive than you could have ever imagined." --Ashley Esqueda

Guess it in two "My ultimate goal in Wordle is to guess the word by my second try. To that end, I use STEAR as my first word, which provides a solid set of letters in unusual positions -- so I can often predict where they'll go if they turn up yellow. From there, I make aggressive guesses, even if they're strategically inadvisable (duplicate letters, few vowels, low-likelihood letters, etc.). Since starting this strategy, my average is about the same as ever, but now I occasionally win in two guesses. So, success?" --David Priest

The mosquitos in this region were relentless - taking a bowl of soup from a nearby small cabin (where the cook was making food) to my tent often resulted in a dozen mosquitos landing in the bowl, thus becoming part of the protein intake.

'The Penny Ice Cap is one of the last remaining ice caps from the last Ice Age and our goal was to cross it, collect snow samples for pollutants along the way, and also make ground measurements to compare with what satellites were measuring at the same time.

It's unknown yet if that perspective will shift following the nominees first day of yielding questions for senators, especially as the GOP signals they could have some aggressive lines of attack - including on Jackson's record on sentencing in child porn cases.
