Health-related common myths are not easy to shift, even in the minds of physicians. For numerous years at this point there has long been this misconception out there that testosterone replacement therapy was somehow harmful since it caused or perhaps at the very least encouraged prostate cancer. There was never any evidence to allow for this myth by the manner in which. However, did that matter? Not at all. Testosterone encourages prostate cancer and allow that to be an end to it.

Here's where the confusion arose I think: Testosterone suppression is a recognized treatment for prostate cancer which has spread other than the prostate capsule. This utilized to be attained by castration. Today drugs do the same exact thing. Testosterone suppression leads to some of these cancers to reduce in size for a year or 2 then again, they recur.

So there is the cause of this myth. If the suppression of testosterone is able to reduce in size prostate tumor then logically extra testosterone can make them grow. Right? No, incorrect. Or so we used to argue. Prostate cancer is not an ailment of young males with high levels of testosterone. It's predominately a disease of older men whose testosterone levels will be in decline. Thus, if anything at all, testosterone is appropriate against cancer.

At this point we know that what we suspected all along is in fact scientifically proven. Testosterone Replacement Therapy doesn't increase the danger of prostate cancer by a single iota. Thanks to the work of two Harvard researchers Dr Abraham Morgentaler and Dr Emani Rhoden Peruse this article, www.timesheraldonline.com, particular myth has, at lone finally, been exposed as being just that - a myth. In reality, if anything, the concern today appears to be that if a man is found to have a really low testosterone level the chances of his of getting prostate cancer are improved.

It is too early still to state if giving testosterone replacement therapy affords a man some protection against developing prostate cancer. That might however be proven to be the case. But certainly now we know that TRT is not dangerous doesn't "flame the fires" of currently existing prostate cancer.

In a way it is sad to think that maybe millions of older males have long been committed to experience the effects of persistent degenerative disease as osteoporosis, Alzheimer's disease, arteriosclerosis, erectile dysfunction and decreased energy levels all because a medical myth obtained in the way of them staying properly managed. All these problems can be ameliorated with straightforward TRT. Of course, because the remainder of us there may still be time to catch up.Free PSD business strategy landing page template
