Jonathan Loc, a graduate student at Harvard who helped organize teach-ins in support of affirmative action, poses with his Harvard diploma at his home in Rosemead, Calif., on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. "I grew up as the son of refugees in a low-income community and a single parent family burdened with the model minority myth," he said. "But I think that that kind of narrative also helps me to be an Asian American focused on racial justice, focused on making sure that everyone who has a unique story related to their racial background or any background has that story heard." Surprisingly, the ending of season 2 almost works as a finale for the whole series. Still, Marling and Batmanglij have the real conclusion tucked away somewhere. Let's pray they have a chance to bring season 3 to the screen. Someone please hop dimensions and rescue this show from the realm of canceled TV.

Makia Green sits outside her Washington home on June 12, 2023. As a Black student who was raised by a single mother, Green believes she benefited from a program that gave preference to students of color from economically disadvantaged backgrounds when she was admitted over a decade ago to the University of Rochester. As a borrower who still owes just over $20,000 on her undergraduate student loans, she has been counting on President Joe Biden's promised debt relief to wipe nearly all that away. Now, both affirmative action and the student loan cancellation plan - policies that disproportionately help Black students - could soon be dismantled by the U.S. Supreme Court. (AP Photo/Kevin Wolf)

A black-and-white David Fincher tale about the unsung screenwriter Herman Mankiewicz who helped Orson Welles write Citizen Kane. Step back into Old Hollywood, with beautiful cinematography and take in the behind-the-scenes of how studio systems functioned in a different time. Before Rose's killing, Collins had a lengthy criminal history, despite only being 21 at the time. He reportedly started a fire, stabbed a man in the back, carjacked a woman, and threatened a black teenager with a knife while yelling slurs before being jailed for Rose's murder, Fox reported.

One NYC mom, Daniela Jampel, 38, of Washington Heights in Manhattan, told DailyMail.com the new mask policy flies in the face of common sense and will create a series of 'mini-police states' and a culture of 'petty tyrants.'

She recalled classes where students discussed their lived experiences on topics such as police violence, colonialism and labor movements - discussions that would have fallen flat without a diverse range of student perspectives.

"If both of these are struck down, it will send a very clear signal that our court system does not support the most vulnerable populations, especially those who helped build this country," McGuire said.

A psychological thriller that dives deep into the surreal. I'm Thinking of Ending Things definitely won't be for everyone, but it connects you to the frustrations of the young woman (Jessie Buckley) at its heart, who grapples with breaking off her seven-week-relationship with her boyfriend Jake (Jesse Plemons). While it overstays its welcome a little, I'm Thinking of Ending Things always keeps you on your toes, with atmospheric cinematography and strong performances from Toni Collette and David Thewlis as Jake's fairly odd parents. Fans of director-writer Charlie Kaufman will be pleased.
