The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office has estimated the bill would cut deficits by $1.5 trillion over the next decade compared with previous projections - but some informal estimates say it could allow the debt to swell to $35 trillion.

Harrison Tran, a 10th grader in Savannah, Georgia, struggled to make sense of algebra during remote learning.

Last year, his high school offered after-school help. But that wasn´t feasible for Harrison, who lives 30 minutes from school and couldn´t afford to miss his ride home.

Kremlin troops launched two attacks on Kyiv late Wednesday and earlier today - one via the besieged western city of Irpin and another through the eastern district of Brovary, with video showing the moment Russian tanks and armoured vehicles were bombarded with artillery in a devastating ambush and forced to turn back.

Most of the tutoring was offered by paraprofessionals during the school day, with one hired to give intense support in each elementary school.

Protesters argued that the mandate is unnecessary because of the low risk of infection for those under five, and that the rule is 'damaging' to the emotional and social development of young children. Along with a vaccine mandate for municipal employees, the under-fives rule is among the only Covid restrictions NYC Mayor Eric Adams didn't lift last week.

The House bill passed Wednesday limits National Security spending in fiscal year 2024 to $886 billion - in line with President Biden's budget request - and caps it at $895 billion in 2025, a one percent increase.
